To End Homelessness In Durham

You may have missed the article on Wednesday in The Durham News entitled "Recession Straining Homeless Agency." The story by our friend, Jim Wise, reports on a presentation that I and my colleagues, Anita Oldham and Lanea Foster, made to the Durham County Commissioners, following the presentation by Patrice Nelson from Urban Ministries of Durham.

It is true, sad, but also not surprising that homelessness across our nation is increasing during this economic crisis that most are calling the worst recession since the Great Depression! The economic and social realities challenge all of us to redouble our efforts to create a society and community where all people have their most fundamental human needs met.
